  1. Jeff took the time to replicate my circuit without the binary counter and he could confirm my results. That means that this effect is not bound to some special weird environmental conditions at my place. He made the following screenshots from the oscillations. Oscillation patterns (oscilloscope screenshots) I think you can see the principle. Basically we can observe bursts of very fast impulses packed in one "meta-impulse" that again is part of a burst of more meta-impulses that again form a package of meta-meta-impulses and so on. The analogy of self similarity and bifurcation coming from the chaos theory comes into my mind here.
  2. Schematic of NE555 chaos circuit You see how simple the circuit is, honestly much too simple to produce such complex oscillation patterns. What I found out and Jeff could confirm is that an overlaying oscillation emerged in the circuit. Something that made the whole circuit oscillate in itself. This could be proved because the oscillations only took place if the power supply was done via a radio choke. Normally no electronic engineer would do that. All power and ground connection always shall be low impedance to provide proper function but in this case the effect seemed to require instability. Here some audio exports I could make from a bunch of recordings I made that could possibly be spirit messages. I put them here without interpretation. 3. I opened this thread because I stumbled across an interesting effect lately. It is not necessarily a paranormal effect but weird at least. I called the resulting device "Spica", a phonetic acronym for "Spirit Chaos" generator. Moreover Spica is the brightest star in the constellation Virgo. By beginning of October 2021 I wanted to built a simple electronical square wave oscillator. This work was related to my ongoing research with the VISPRE. Really no big thing to realize this function by use of the NE555. This circuit is one of the most famous in the world. It is a simple and clever made timing circuit that can be utilized in monostable or astable (oscillating) mode and it was so successful that it flooded the electronic community and industry since the early 1970's in an abundance of applications. This circuit still is produced in number of about 1 billion/year(!) and there are NE555-competitions in the internet of the craziest things you can use a NE555 for. I used this circuit in various aplications as well. Now, in October 2021 I wanted to realize this very simple square wave application with the NE555. However curiously, in my breadboard layout I made a mistake. I forgot to tie together two pins that are controlling the upper and lower trigger levels for the oscillation. It turned out that by omitting the connection between pins 2 and 6 the NE555 showed a very strange behavior I never witnessed before. Instead of emitting just one fixed frequency as I wanted it to generate and what is the only way a NE555 can work, a whole group of frequencies were generated simultaneously almost like a chord. I had implemented a potentiometer that originally just was provided to tune the frequency. Now, turning this poti made the groups of simultaneous tones jump from one configuration to another one with different compositions. Those areas were intermitted by small areas of noise. Obviously the circuit was generating very complex patterns of oscillations. Because the frequencies were rather high (100KHz - 330 KHz) and only partially in the audible range I thought about converting them down to the audible range by using a binary counter stage that divided the frequencies by 2 in every stage. Because the counter has 11 stages I could tap the audio signal very comfortably at the stage where I got the best sound. This video gives yo an impression about the oscillating patterns. 4. Hello Spidermeema, I feel sorry that you did not feel accepted the first time you were with Varanormal and that this obviously was the reason you left. Maybe we all (including the admins) are too busy in general to pay attention to possible harrassments. I want to apologize for that. In case this happens again, don't hesitate to call the admins. Andrés
  5. Just read an interesting and funny article in Fortean Times about the quest for UFO, or how it is called now UAP, contacts. This little device was sold for £9 and comprised a magnetic compass needle, a battery and a buzzer. The assumed electromagnetic field of an UFO would cause a deflection of the needle that closed an electric circuit and activated the buzzer. If this device really worked is unknown
  6. A very good plan Steve! What about constituting a review board with skilled people to do the proofreading (typos, grammar) and 1st level peer review (document structure, argumentation, logic fallacies)? I think you and Gismo would be just perfect board members.
  7. Man, you again made a great piece of software! Since I have phyton and Anaconda already installed, your phyton files would be enough for me to make your app run.
  8. Thank you for the "peer review" Karyn!
  9. Yes Jeff and I am still curious where the limit is. I feel this technology still isn't fully exploited.
  10. And here is the rest from today. Incredible results gained from an almost squelched relay and the Lingua. The lingua adjustment is very delicate and depends heavily on the audio level. A slightly decreased level and the lingua wipes out the signal, a little too much and the relay impulses come through as heavy pounding. If the signsl is in-between the results are amazing! The signal level sensitivity reminds me of Keith's experiments with Krisp. 11. I accidentally discovered another mode. At some point the neon lamp generated a steady sequence of impulses like a square wave. By listening to this signal through the Lingua I heard faint voices. Then I used it with the two springs and the springs stretched up to the point where the relay oscillations were short before tapering off. The signals are distorted but noise free. 12. Michael Lee already wrote a small manual about the parameter settings. I can add an installation guide and this should be enough for a start. We now need to find a place in the forum where we can put the SW for download and everyone can find it.
  13. Hello Fernando, this is very interesting! I didn't know that abortion basically was accepted in the Jewish tradition. Likely it is the same like with Christianity when at a certain point abstraction and orthodox interpretation came into power. The Jewish kabbalah is so amazing because it comprises the most detailed descriptions about the origin of the creation and it also provides a path for spiritual learning. May be embarrassing, but my interest for the kabbalah and Jewish tradition came from watching the movie "Indiana Jones and the raiders of the lost ark". After that movie I started to read books about the Ark of the Covenant, I read "The Golem" from Gustav Meyrink and "The Tomb of God" from Andrews & Schellenberger. I also learned that the kabbalah is not a pure Jewish work. The holy priests who wrote it were pretty open minded and adopted some spiritual concepts from the ancient Greeks as well. In fact it was a collaborative work. One day when I have more time and leisure I want to read some books about the kabbalah as I feel it is somehow near to me even I did not grow up in the Jewish tradition.
  14. Yes Jeff, I talked to Michael Lee yesterday and said I want to help him to promote this great piece of sw-engineering he made. I mean this is a professional tool especially designed for making spirit voices audible that are deeply buried in interference and noise you get for free! The setup is a little complicated but not that hard to do. I will write a small how-to as a one-pager how to do it and later I will make a video too and share it. @Michael LeeMaybe you can give me some descriptions for the user parameter settings represented by all those sliders. Then I would work that into my one-pager. I also would like to put your Spirit-Communicator files as an zip archive into the sw section together with my "manual". Would that be ok?
  15. Amazing! I always was interested in Jewish religion and tradition, especially the kabbalah, since it is oldest spiritual culture that still is existing today. Thanks for this, Karyn!
  16. With much help from Michael I managed to set up his Spirit Communicator programm on my PC today. Thank you so much for this Michael Lee! It works great! Basically I get a stream of continous voices but voices still are is not optimized and dull due to the low frequencies in the signal. Here some exports: "Könnt ihr denn nicht Programme nutzen" -> "Why you can't use software?":Könnt ihr denn nicht Programme nutzen.mp3 "Würde dir was vorlesen" -> "Would like to read something for you":Würde dir was vorlesen.mp3 "Ihr macht so feine Versuche" -> "You all are making such fine experiments": Ihr mach so feine Versuche.mp3 "Weckt er Welt, erfolgte maßvoll" -> "Awakened the world in due course":Weckt er Welt - erfolgte maßvoll.mp3 "Er würde dir noch mehr Fragen fragen in der Hölle" -> "He would ask you more questions in hell": Er würde dir noch mehr Fragen fragen in der Hölle.mp3 Here is the complete recording: ML 2021-10-12.mp3
  17. The last days I spent fathoming the possible improvements for the VISPRE. I tried, Using a loudspeaker as a replacement for the relay Replacing the oscillating relay by a non-oscillating Using the neon lamp to trigger electronically generated trains of impulses with adjustable pitch Elongating very short impulses in the above mentioned setup Adding reverb electronically In the end I really was pleased to see that all those ideas made the result worse and not better. So, in the end the magic is in the mechanical parts and the oscillation patterns they are generating. I am very pleased that a Edison-style technique outperforms all the electronic stuff. I have put the VISPRE back into it's original state again. The only thing I added is to another softer spring in series to the original one. It really would be an improvement to make a small hook at the diaphragm in order to connect different springs. With the softer spring the signal has more reverb and thus has a more richfull sound. Another improvement is in the setup. It turned out to be favorable to let the acoustical waves being reflected from a wall and to catch this signal with a microphone. Therefor I implemented an electret condenser microphone beneath the resonating tube facing outside. I routed the signal through the Lingua, recorded it in WavePad and applied a high-pass filter (250Hz 6dB) and 20% denoising (auto spectral substraction). Hear the following audio clips. A person named "Ben" was mentioned multiple times. "Erik meldet" -> "Erik is reporting": Erik meldet.mp3 "Es sind Wellen" -> "They are waves": Es sind Wellen.mp3 "Meldet bitte" -> "Reporting please..": Meldet bitte.mp3 "We can't stand...":We cant stand.mp3 "Bitte der Ben" -> "Now Ben please": Bitte der Ben - Ben.mp3 "Meldet Ben" -> "Announcing Ben": Meldet Ben.mp3 I think a new test setup would be appropriate to optimize diaphragm diameter and spring type. Addendum: The new recordings with increased lingua processing level and the new spring the results are really good. Got a lot of messages in bavarian dialect. "Bringt uns der untere her" -> "The lower one brings us here":Bringt uns der untere Ehr.mp3 "Brüder Jahn" -> "Brothers Jahn": Brüller ja.mp3 "Delta hoffen" -> "Hoping delta": Delta hoffen.mp3 "Du böser" -> "You nasty one": Du Böser.mp3 "Du kriegst deine Compliance" -> "You will get your compliance":Du kriegst Deine Compliance.mp3 The mechanical oscillations are the only ones that are generating this snaring sounds the spirits use to make formants from.
  18. Hi Steve and thank you so much for your reflections! In fact this paper was my first and I today see its structure as a little cluttered since I tried to realize a very wide scope with it, which is the basic characteristic of a treatise, and it ended up in a little bit of this and a little bit of that. However I think it's ok so far if you consider it was my first paper and it was a huge one too. I felt very early the need to not only document what we are doing but also to draw conclusions from our results since this is the basic method used in science. Regarding the issue of publications I must admitt that Varanormal so far was not the best place to publish papers. We started as a forum and are evolving slowly in what I would call a reseach community. We are not that far to discuss technical papers with a wider scope yet. In fact you are the first one who did an internal review of my paper. I hope Varanormal at least will become a place where we can pre-publish a paper in the closed area of the community to identify typos, logic fallacies and bad argumentation. Only after this refinement I would dare to publish a paper outside of Varanormal. This is the reason I appreciate your lines so much because this is the start of making our papers more professional. If we issue papers with a well structured content, proven facts and comprehensible argumentation and conclusions outside varanormal, scientist will raise their eyebrows and maybe start to think, "Hey those guys are taking seriously what they do! Let's have a look". I would love if we would have some volunteers here with preferably academic background like you and Gismo for doing peer reviews. And then, after the papers were battle hardened this way we can fire them at the scientific community. Up to now I have only one comment or external review for my paper here, https://www.paranormalstudy.com/treatise-on-the-phenomenon-of-spirit-voice-manifestations-in-noise/ I know that Michael Lee also writes great papers. If what we do will become successfull outside of Varanormal this will hopefully boost our motivation to write more papers. Thanks for correcting my views on social media. I had some bad impressions from ghost hunting groups on FB here in germany and certainly my view was incomplete at least. Regarding documentation there is another issue. I would like to develop an ITC standard protocol form either in Word, Excel or as editable PDF everyone can use to log his sessions. It should contain informations about techniques, setup, environmental conditions, the experimenters psychic profile, the datafile (audio/Image/Video), timestamp and lenth of spirit messages in the file, applied processing methods and interpretation. The confirmation of the interpretation from a listener panel could round off this document. Again we would be able to exploit our work deeper and to do meta-analysis or studies over the structured data later, even more if we would store the the data in a cloud. I think scientist would reward this work as another attempt to establish scientific methods. One very simple approach without much additional data I made is here:ITC-Transcript Stream5_04.docx Last but not least you addressed one of the issues that is making me sad frequently. In the quest for finding the perfect ITC technology we don't spend enough attention to the content of the spirit messages in my eyes. In most cases what the spirits say is degraded down to the question if it makes sense or not and can it be used to prove our techniques as usable. But there is so much more what they tell us about their emotions, fears, their world, our world and ourselves. We don't address those most intimate utterances appropriatly in my eyes. I hope once a good technique is established we can listen more to what they say and what this means for us. Yoe see there is enough work to do.
  19. Fascinating how the content changes if you apply other processing methods! Now I hear "Geh nach auf dem Wege", what means "Follow the way". Your description of the complexity of the interaction of the mechanical parts is very true. I made some attempts today to replace the components by electronic circuits like reverb but it doesn't work. There is something very special going on between loudspeaker/relay, spring and diaphragm. Will try two ways now, first applying a bigger diaphragm and a softer spring with the speaker. Second replacing the self oscillating relay by one without self oscillation that gets excited by the NE555 impulses. This will be a competition between relay and loudspeaker.
  20. I stole myself some time today because the work with the lite bridge is proceeding very well and thus I realized an idea for improvements with the VISPRE. I wanted to replace the oscillating relay with a loudspeaker. The sound of the relay is very rich but also a bit dull since it was not designed to create sound. So I employed a loudspeaker with a piece of perfboard to connect the spring. First impression was that the sound had more granularity but was lacking speech. Then I considered that the relay was self oscillating and the loudspeaker not. Thus it emitted more or less only the envelope of speech. So I made a little oscillation circuit with an NE555 that generates a square wave signal that can be tuned between 150Hz and 400Hz. The neon lamp impulses are switching the NE555 just on and off. The results are much better now. Here the only english sample I got. We've been all built with the stars: We have been all built with the stars.mp3 The fidelity is not bad and the cool thing is that I can tune the pitch electronically now by adjusting a potentiometer on the NE555 circuit. In the current VISPRE the distance between relay and diaphragm must be properly adjusted to pick the right pitch. For the new design I won't need the mechanical screw arrangement anymore and the loudspeaker can be placed fixed. While granularity is improved the sound is very "thin" now. However I already have ideas for an alternative oscillation circuit. I guess the next version of the VISPRE will be easier in mechanics and better in performance I use the current VISPRE just for testing and will reestablish the previous state after my tests are completed. The new design will give birth to a new prototype.
  21. I am fascinated by you description. The principle kf substracting image frames from each other is a cool idea! What strikes me even more are your explanations about the perlinization of noise. Do I get you right if I see this process as a recombination of random distribution where the "lower frequencies" are dominating the higher ones? Let's say I have a random generator in software that picks numbers from 0 to 99 with equal probability. Then I would apply a transformation function in a way that e.g. the number 20 is picked with just 25% probability of the number 10 (inverse square rule). Is this correct?
  22. Interesting. So the idea is to provide the outline of a face as a base for, lets say information precipitation, that helps the spirits to do their manipulations at the right points but in the end forming another face that is not yours? In that case wouldn't it be favorable to use a somehow "neutral" face like a smiley?
