Yes, it's a lot, and that is the point. A comprehensive approach has advantages. Sometimes, a lone inventor can make a breakthrough that changes everything. Or a small group of volunteers and a growing open-source community, like Varanormal. At other times, you need a company with many employees. I've even fantasized about the proverbial "moon shot" approach to ITC development and related aspects, where huge amounts of public and private money are infused to accomplish an important goal. When I look at how long it is taking (well over 100 years) for ITC to reach the milestones we all wish for, I lean in the direction of bigger is better (and faster). On the other hand, I'm impressed with the talent and progress of this community in such a short time. I have perused "The Coherer Effect" paper and participated to some extent, but want to dig into it more deeply. Thanks for your contributions!

I was 17 years old in 1970 when I discovered the writings of Edgar Cayce. It changed my life. I began meditating as per instructions in the readings, and had inner awakenings. I joined local Search For God study groups (Cayce's spiritual development groups) in Pittsburgh. In 1972 I spent a long spring and summer in Virginia Beach, working at the Marshall's hotel as a waiter, spent time at ARE headquarters and library, and got to know the Cayce family. I joined Study Group #1 with Gladys Davis Turner, who was Cayce's secretary (put him in trance and took full transcript notes on his readings). Cayce's readings cover the gamut, including astrology which I took up at the Beach, and psychic reading which I learned at schools in California. I spread out from there and developed many related interests over the years, but I give Cayce credit for opening the door for me at a young age.

That's fascinating, Andres, that you got what could be an over-unity effect while playing with EVP! One theory of how ITC works is that it draws on the zero point, aka energy of the vacuum. Some ITC devices, like the TDC, are designed to create a zero point field as the place spirit can interact with, implying an equivalence between etheric energy and zero point. Zero point is also a prominent design factor in free energy research. It may even be behind the free energy devices based on cavitation (exploding water bubbles) that we are discussing in another thread. I'm curious as to what free energy devices you experimented with, besides Bedini.

Andres, your floating portal could be due to environmental factors. Or it could be related to astrological forces. For environmental, a good starting point is to look at simple things like humidity during April, May and November where you live. I believe low humidity has been correlated with increased psi phenomena and ITC. Another possibility is storm activity, especially lightning. Do you have more storms in April, May and November. There may also be magnetic field shifts that time of year where you live. There are probably tables online that give localized magnetic field data. For astrological forces, refer to your natal horoscope, and if you are not living in the place you were born, the relocation chart. Some things may pop out that sensitize you every year during those months.

We know that in mediumship circles, techniques are used to build up the psi field, which is thought to generate better contact. Those techniques include raising the vibrations through group singing, etc. So it stands to reason that a lone experimenter's mood would make a difference. Do you have access to Kirlian photography and similar bio-field measuring tools? Or even simple biofeedback devices to measure mood. Other than that, surveys of mood correlated to ITC results. When you talk about Portal Days, what do you mean? In pagan lore, for example, Halloween is thought to be a day where the veil between life and afterlife is thin. Is this what you mean by Portal Day?

Fabulous! On my long list of projects is translation of all the non-English ITC websites. It's not that hard to do with Google Translate built into the browser. Geomancy is not just dowsing. It includes Feng Shui, Ley Lines and Tiang Seri. On a personal note, do you remember Charles Manson? His gang murdered Sharon Tate and others in Los Angeles. My friend, one of the first to get a degree in parapsychology, which at the time included paranormal investigation, was the prime investigator at a neighboring house. When I visited him about 12 years ago, he took me to the house, along with his measuring devices. We watched as his magnetometer spun round and round at the door, and other instruments gave unusual readings. The place was haunted. There were ghost videos. The resident had stories to tell, and eventually made a movie about it. My friend suggested that the hauntings were a result of ley line activity that was responsible for the readings. The energies were attracting the spirits. I am a bit psychic, so I tuned into the entities and found Sharon Tate herself. I spoke to her and told her to move on, which I think she did.

Geopathic tests have been done with ITC and are published somewhere. I'll look it up. Dr. Jeffers post here is excellent.

There are many interesting phenomena with water, which some mystics call the universal substance, present in all dimensions. It looks like there was the beginning of a discussion of the Emoto effect under Water Secrets on this forum. That is where intention directly impacts water formation into resonant geometric forms. Also, experiments of Radin and others on intention and water crystal formation. I wonder if these could be folded into Coherer Effect experiments. Another phenomenon is cavitation, where high pressure water bubbles burst, creating free energy. Could that energy be harnessed to enhance the Coherer Effect?

Environmental factors have an impact on the efficacy ITC sessions. Geopathic stress is one of those factors, and the art of manipulating those energies is geomancy. It might be fruitful to experiment with geomancy during ITC sessions, and to develop more effective ITC systems.

Rife was ahead of his time. Using old technology, he was able to create a light microscope that magnified almost to the molecular level, non-destructively, unlike electron microscopes. It allowed him to visualize organic processes unlike none before him. It showed tiny organelles appearing and disappearing out of the ethers, inside of cells, similar to Reich's bions. He experimented with healing frequencies, and it worked. His work was destroyed and suppressed, same as happened with Tesla and Reich. The microscope has been replicated. And now there are new technologies that can do the same. Dark Field and Bechamp are similar. There are also Rife frequency devices used in healing. With regard to ITC, if some of those frequencies can be shown to trigger the transport of bions through the ether, we might want to experiment with them, as ITC appears in that boundary between subtle energy and matter.

Keith, you observe that the decline effect is correlated with audio clarity. This would tend to favor the "motivation" theory of the decline effect. That is, if people have to struggle to hear an EVP, their failure breeds dis-motivation for subsequent trials, and decline follows. Yes, the obvious environmental factors with radio. But I'd like to know more about non-radio environmental factors. In another post of mine, we are discussing the use of Tesla coils to raise the local atmospheric dielectric, which seems to correlate with better quality ITC, for example. Mind state, repetition, and building a good contact field - all classical components of the operator effect. Now we need to discover how to do get good results without the operator effect, to make the phenomenon more universal.

The article reviews several explanations for the decline effect, but does not address the seasonal declines that Andres and Dr. Jeffers report. Although there may be some personal astrological considerations, I suspect it has more to do with seasonal variations in etheric energy, or seasonal electrostatic shifts. In astrology and some mystical traditions, it is said that the human biofield is more body-centric in the spring and summer, and more head-centric in fall and winter. There are ITC studies on seasonal and atmospheric determinants, also in ghost research. I need to look them up.

Have you ever noticed that an experiment goes well at the beginning, and then trails off as you try to replicate it over and over? In Parapsychology, this is called the Decline Effect.
