  1. Categories (posts) created in Newsletter Section.
If you want to add one, feel free to do so. Please follow same format as my post, or just let me know and I will create it.
Lets keep it clean, only categories top level - respond to those initial posts. We don't need more than 15 categories max probably. It should be csomething we see regularly and can populate, though there are always exceptions.

    Thanks!

  2. In the future, when we have money maybe we can automate things such as send an email and have it be collected in a forum post.

I've emailed Invision Community and asked them, am pretty sure they'll blow me off.

The goal is to have the entire team produce content. Want your work in the newsletter? Write 3 lines about what it is, provide a link, and picture if available.

Karyn and I grab it, minimal editing, out the newsletter goes.

The mindset that it only has to be currently relevant material is a mirage. Content is content, and you guys have populated the forum with lots of stuff already. Let's get it out there.

  3. Yes sir. Short and sweet. 3 lines, maybe with a picture that leads them to the source.

This needs to stay simple folks (the entire process). We'll do folders for categories, just not for each person.

If you see an event, or something in Zammit newsletter, a YouTube video, an article, a funny ghost joke, of one of your experiments on the forum, a cool piece of software, or a clip another experimenter posted, or a Perlin picture that you like - even if from one year ago - then it is newsletter material. There is far more material that comes our way than we could ever share. Some of it can also be from other newsletters, as the people are trying to get the information out.

Instead of letting the idea fly by, either come here and post it, or email yourself with Subject Title "Newsletter Topics" and come back to it later, or put it in a onenote from your cell phone, or share in the forum right then and there from your cell phone.

If you go to our home page there's always a "start new topic" button right below the homepage graphic (which will be going away soon - that section). Then just select the right forum, and paste. We don't need tags, or anything fancy. Just content.

    Thanks 🙂

  4. Hi team, We need your regular help providing the material you feel should go into our newsletters.
This is your opportunity for us to highlight your work.

There's 2 ways to hack this:
Everyone just blast everything in the newsletter forum
    Or
We have assigned placeholders posts for sections under newsletters. Such as:

    Latest research
One recording or hot topic post link
    Event
    Humor
    History
    Promote someone elses work
    Other?

Karyn and I need this to be simple, efficient. It doesn't have to be exact or the same every time, or have all of these pieces. It just needs to be quick and easy to assemble, consistent.

The goal is 3 newsletters a week. Better to have more short ones than infrequent ones.

So the team needs to plop the necessary information in there, including pictures and links if applicable, Karyn and I scoop it up and send it out.

Please provide your feedback on what you would like to see, as well as your commitment to contribute.

And remember - it's not just Varanormal we're promoting, it's a community of knowledge. So any relevant material you come across that is beneficial to the public and we can tie in is acceptable.

Can you clarify how this sub-forum is distinct from our conversations on Ring Central? What would be the appropriate occasion to post here vs. Ring Central?

Sure. RingCentral is not as well-suited for long conversations on topics the team needs to provide input on. The forum is.

RingCentral is better suited for close moral support, so we feel more connected.

Part of the problem is I think many don't have notifications turned on for the forum. Perhaps you could look it up and share with the team?

Here we'll decide what projects, what videos, what decisions etc regarding a variety of topics. This will drive what we decide and then do.

And it's going to be right next to our team files, all access in one place.

RingCentral is for shorter chat. And some people become overwhelmed when they see many messages.

    Here they know its structured.

Maybe over time even RingCentral may fade, it remains to be seen.

    Thanks! Good question.
