Scalar (v0.1) - Sweeping Tone Generator
By Michael Lee in Software
I wrote a program to generate sweeping up and down tones, with user controls.
What I wasn't able to do was get this code into executable form for simple installation. 😞
So, you'll need to install Miniconda (Python 3.8, 64-bit), then go into the uncompressed directory and type
conda env create --file scalar.yml
Then, to run the program:
conda activate scalar
python ./scalar_wave.py
The GUI should be self-explanatory.
If you have any questions or issues, post them below.

Spiricam v0.81
By Michael Lee in Software
Use your webcam as a portal into other dimensions!
This program supersedes Spiricam v0.74. Among fixes:
- Color should work better. (Bug fix)
- Arrow keys can control frame index
- Brightness/Contrast/Gamma slides for lighting adjustments
- Device selection pauses recording
- Exit button removed: use top right "x" button to close program or the keys "x" or "X".
- Magnitude clipping for suppressing bright pixels
- Camera resolution can now be changed in "config.ini".
Instructions
Unzip the ZIP. Navigate to EXE file in the folder and double-click it to start program.
There's also a README.txt and config.ini you can edit.
If you any questions/comments, you can post on the Varanormal forum.

Spiricam v0.74
By Michael Lee in Software
Unzip file. The main program is the EXE. There's also a README.txt to look at and a config.ini. Everything else is support libraries.
In addition, check out the tutorial: Spiricam Demo.
I have a new version coming out soon (11/8/21). Look for Spiricam 0.8. It will have:
1) Bug fix: improved color
2) Options in the config.ini to specify camera resolution, display resolution, and workspace resolution
3) A new lighting contrast option (Gamma)
4) Arrow keys to control frame slider
5) Auto-stop, if camera selection changes during recording.
6) A new subtle option for filtering.

"Amorphous Field Gui" Python Standalone Executable by Michael Lee (Varanormal Research Team)
By Michael Lee in Software
This program generates a constantly changing noise pattern based on a pseudo random number generator (PRNG). Scientifically speaking, PRNGs should not be able to be influenced by spirits, but there are two caveats. One is that the random seed used in Python is somehow affected (like timing). The other is that this may be an example of a partnership between our medium-capable suggestive minds and randomly generated shapes and forms.
At some point, we will also introduce random visuals that derive from hardware sources, like the audio input of your computer. It will be interesting to see if the images improve.
Download Program (The compiled program runs only in Windows 10.)
Amorphous Field Zip File
Click the link. Then click the down arrow button at the top right to download. Unzip the file (uncompressed over 700 MB!) and it will produce a folder. In this folder is an EXE file called amorphous.gui.exe that you can run.
Source Code (Python; Any OS)
If you have Python / Anaconda3, you can play with and modify the script. Let us know if there is a more efficient way to make an EXE from Python, or if you want, you can recode the program in another programming language.
