    Audacity
Audacity is a perfect tool for ITC. If you use it consequently like I am doing since years for ITC you don't want to miss it anymore. To get Audacity you first need to download it here. After installation you can make some basic setups I will show you now and that are optimized for ITC. I configured Audacity mainly along with its usage, thus everything I found out as best practice is empirically found.

    First go to Edit->Preferences:

Another menu with lots of tabs is showing up. Here we can make all the basic settings we want to use in order to facilitate our work. I just will talk about the tabs that are useful for us. Leave the rest of them in default settings.

The first tab contains settings for the input/output devices. Since all my ITC devices are using the line input of my soundcard it is favorable to specify it for the recording device. In my eyes it makes sense to set mono recordings as default. Stereo tracks don't make sense in ITC. The rest can stay as it is.

Next interesting tab is the recording tab. I valued it as useful to put a default track name "ITC Track" in the Custom Track Name field and enable the naming extension by time and date.

Quality settings are important. Sometimes we need to do a lot post processing. Therefor it is favorable to set the sample rate up to 95KHz instead 48KHz and 32 bit Float to preserve enough reserve in accuracy. For the same reasons i selected the highest quality settings for the Sample Rate Converter as shown.

For copyright reasons Audacity comes without an MP3 encoder. We will do all our exports in MP3 since we want to save disk space and bandwith. Installing an MP3 encoder is not much of a problem because you can usethe famous Lame encoder. It's free and you can get it  here. After installation it should be visible in the Libraries tab. If not use the buttons for FFmpeg Library to show Audacity the installation paths.

The Effects are not important for the start but later we will use the Nyquist extensions. Thus it makes sense to check the respective box already.

Now restart Audacity. In the lower left corner you should see now the new Project sample rate of 96.000 Hz. For the audio position check hours, minute, seconds and milliseconds and for the selected areas "Start and Length of selection". This is useful if me measure duration and spacing later.

In the upper left corner you should see now Line input as default.
Now you are done. Audacity is now ready for ITC.

A nice expewriment from today was an idea coming from discussions with Jeff about applying cardboard tubes as bandpass resonators for human speech. It was a very simple setup. I took a piece of cardboard tube, put in a buzzer into one end (working on a steady frequency), covered this end with one hand and with the other hand I opened and closed the upper end of the tube in a random manner.
Basically the results are promising ic combined with random excitation of the buzzer.

    ITC
I did another interesting experiment today. I used my Spica chaos electronic circuit and attached an electric buzzer to it. A buzzer mainly behaves like the oscillating relay in my VISPRE device. By tuning the chaos pattern and the current through the buzzer I could make it emitt snaring sounds with speech rhythms.

VID_20211127_180322.mp4 I could record and export some fairly good voices.

Geh an Weihnachten.mp3   Geh danach in weisse Nacht.mp3   In Reichstag gehen.mp3   Videos.mp3   The setup is not the prototype of a working device, I see it more as a research project where I learned something from.
The buzzer is a mechanical device that is able to self oscillate because of positive feedback. If you excite it with random patterns mimicking speech in a way that self oscillation is short before to start, the tiniest energy fluctuation will kick in self oscillation with an exponentially rising signal ramp. In case of the buzzer it starts to snare.
It's this fragile state where pk modulation may control this transitional point of operation.
The second thing is an acoustical bandpass forming formants from the impulses. The voices I posted here still are sub optimum in terms of spectral composition. I am thinking of a set of tubes with different lengths and volumes resonating on the base frequencies of the human pharynx.

Today I finished a prototype where I incorporated all the findings and conclusions I gained from my previous experiments.

VID_20211120_170126.mp4   A steel ball is mounted to the rotating shaft of a gear motor. The motor is controlled by the SPICA circuit. The ball is pressed against the diaphragm on a tube. The tube is closed and a microphone picks up the signal from the inside of the tube.
The signal is post processed online with the lingua device.
I also implemented a hardware reverb module but it doesn't add much to the signal quality.

    ITC
In summer 2021 I started ITC experiments with devices that incorporated rather electromechanical principles instead of electronics. There still was some electronic in use but mainly I transferred the mechanical vibrations of an oscillating relay via a mechanical spring to a diaphragm in a cardboard tube. I called this design the
    VISPRE
The results were pretty good. As ot turned out the whole system acted like the emulation of a human larynx and pharynx.
I decided to extend my experiments on more mechanically based methods to generate vibrations to be transferred to a diaphragm.
My latest design was using a small slow turning motor with a spring and a ball mounted to the shaft. The acting of the slow turning ball pressed against the diaphragm generated voice patterns. A problem was that the noise from the gears contaminated the signal. Most amazingly after a while I found out that this noise gave much better results than the original signal.
To gain more entropy I combined the motor with the
    SPICA
circuit. As I found out the Lingua speech processor gave very interesting results after picking up the sound signal from the inside of the tube.
The voices have a very characteristic sound. All are in German.

Very amazing result that came up more as a byproduct today. I was tinkering around with WavePad, not because I intended to do a serious ITC session but just to learn more about WavePad itself. As I wrote in my main blog I discontinued working with Audacity for certain reasons.
I was checking the amazing video export function in WavePad where you can export an audio track in real time animation with it's sound. As I checked the result I suddenly heared a crystal clear voice. In fact it was so clear that first I thought my wife had spoken to me. But then I saw the waveform in the video and could identify and play it back again an again.
The voice is at video position 12s. I cut the video to repeat the crucial sequence two times.
Here is the video: Clear Voice.mp4
The voice says something that sounds like "Most" or "Mose" in english or maybe "Maus" in german. Voice: Most.mp3
This type of voices I only know as direct microphone voices but I had used no microphones.

I analyzed the audio track of the video that Ron made. Very interesting stuff! I compred it to the source file he made and the voices he gained in his video are NOT on the original file. Thus they were realtime voices manifesting during the session he made. Absolutely stunning.
I extracted 11 exports from the audio track. The voice was pretty clear but the conent was confusing. Thus I put it here without my interpretation and everyone might try what he/she is going to perceive.

Another very interesting way to obtain spirit images is the use of structure reflection in moving water. Again the moving water waves on the surface of the lake are the driving energy. The water is reflecting imgages from everything that surrounds the lake, mostly these are trees. In winter, the bare twigs and sticks of a tree are giving a perfect structure to be worked upon by the distorting forces of the water.

When you take single pictures or even better a small movie you are disassembling later into single frames you will see weird structures coming up the more you zoom in on the images. There is really a point when your mind starts to flip into surreal perception.

It needs some good luck to obtain good images. Again these images were part of the first glimpses of the spiritual world I got before I even started with ITC. I took some shots of plants growing around a small lake near my flat just because they were beautiful. Later I zoomed in by accident a little too much on one of those images and got petrified of what I suddenly saw!
The first impression were not really images of faces or bodys but already something that appeared as structures. As if a painter was trying to draw something not really perfect. This lookes like a map of a landscape with a river running through it.

Then figures appeared as blurred outlines of bodies in a row like a family

Now things started to become really weird as i discovered lots of animal like, dog faced beings aligned around the rims of a dark area

Here in more detail. You can clearly see a fat something like a mixture between dog and pig with hanging cheeks. It is surrounded by more dog-like beings.

The blurry shape of a slender woman with long hair in the middle of the picture. Right to her is the big head of a dog taking about half of the picture.

Another shape of a tall person in the middle of the picture. Probably a woman with an indication of breasts. To her left is a big laughing face and to her right another smaller person raising his/her arms into the air as if he/she was greeting me. Both seem to "grow" out of the ground.

The "bearded man". I use him as my logo. He has black hair, a black beard, you can see his neck and he is wearing a kind of a poncho.

Right of the blue encircled area you can see a creature looking like kermit the frog but deceased. In the blue circle there are totem like figures.

Doesn't this look like the outlines of a big ancient city with houses built into the flanks of a mountain? Maybe the upcoming city of the new Jerusalem.

Maybe now you can understand why I think water has magic properties. I think water is a portal to the otherworld and it's transdimensional power is lurking in every lake, pond or puddle your are unconsciously passing by. Even a drop of water is magic!

    1. Basic principles of used technique
This was the first experiment I did with NTC 2 years ago. I noticed that the light of the sun, reflected by the tiny waves on the surface of a lake gave some kind of "light pumping" process. I focused the digital camera in my smartphone on this sport of light that was permanently oscillating between bright light and darkness due to the motion of the waves. After taking a short movie of some seconds I disassembled the movie into single frames by using the app  Grabi. Then I analyzed every frame. After a while I noticed that every time the light went from brightness to darkness something showed up that appeared to be faces or face-like structures.

    2. Some examples
To give you an impression of what the effect looks like I put some simple examples here.

I used moderate post processing with a standard image editor (irfanview), enhanced the contrast, regulated the brightness down and did some sharpening.

    3. Faces in water
In these experiments I could catch some fairly good images that showed more face-like properties and some even had a personal characteristic.
This face looks a bit like the head of a robot.

A distorted face of someone looking at you.

This man immediately reminded me of Lenin!

One of the best images I could get. It shares some similarities with Friedrich Jurgenson. However this might be wishful thinking.

Basically this is the same "setup" used when you are taking shots from agitated water in a bowl, the bowl is just bigger and the agitation is done by wind.

Ongoing work of another VISPRE Unit only made with electromechanical components. It is more a study instead of a real working ITC device. I could find out that it is possible to generate speech rhythms without electronics getting involved which was a very interesting insight for me.

Another thing I wanted to try out was the sound of carbon particles immersed in oil. The oild adds better insulation of the carbon particles to the compound and I expected the sound to be more calm. So I prepared another glass vessel, drilled holes for thumbtack electrodes I glued in, filled it with graphite powder and added Ballistol oil, a high quality oil that is not gummying.
In fact the sound was more steady an calm. With 40V DC bias at the cell I got a nice smooth noise signal with a soft overlay of spiky voices.

I heard some very personal messages in german, one predicted a heart attack for me, but I leave it up to to make your own interpretation and put them all here as a list.

Some messages had a very actual context for me. One said "Look to the window". My desk is directly in front of the room window. Then I was told I now learned my lesson very well to trust my inner feelings, what is entirely true. I also received one message that said "It will be like faxing". Actually I am working on a software named "SpiritFax" since a while and maybe this message was addressing it.
Another one told me I would become  a "navigator" in november and the most stunning one was "Works good with the varnish". For a moment I was confused but then I realized they were addressing the oil! Ballistol oil has the color of amber and if you don't know what it is it looks like varnish!

In my ongoing research to manufacture my own CCRs I again experimented with epoxy glue mixed with graphite. This time I wanted to achieve lower resistance values and I mixed in a lot of graphite. I placed the 'blob' between two thumbtacks I used as electrodes.

The resistance value is around 13 KOhm now. I placed this new component into my circuit and recorded the signal. A lot of crackling noise was in and some fairly good pk modulation.

Ron did a great job by using the audio file I generated from the "Graphite Goo" circuit (graphite poweder immersed in demineralized water) for a live ITC session. returned it into stereo, reversed one channel and then let it run in the background while asking questions. He made a video from it and I extracted the audio track from it to upload it here.

I will analyse the audio this evening and put the results here into the blog
Thank you very much for your work, Ron!

    NTC
Recently I saw a documentary about the british actress Judy Dench. What I did not know was that besides of being the boss of James Bond as "M" in many JB movies, Judy is doing a lot of private research about the nature, life and social behaviour of trees. She is collaborating with lots of scientists helping her to understand how trees are are growing, the social relationships they are building up with other trees, plants and fungus and how they communicate. In that documentary I saw how a biologists was using a contact microphone he pressed against the trunk of a tree and miraculously getting sound from it. Since it was summer you could hear water flowing through the inner rind, or to put it simple, you could hear the tree drinking.
This fueled my imagination and I started to look for contact microphones. Very soon I found out that a simple guitar pickup is a contact mircophone and immediatly I ordered one at amazon. By use of some adapters I could easily hook it up to my digital voice recorder. Well equipped I drove outside to a huge forest 15 minutes by car away from my home.

There were some trees with their rind partially removed. I assumed this was due to the destructive work of bark beetles. I did not have much expectations on catching sounds from a tree since in winter the trees are resting but I just wanted to give it a try.

After some improper attempts to fix the pickup on the trunk I squeezed it into a fold in the bark and started my voice recorder. The first thing I observed was that I could hear some environmental sounds like chirping birds the microphone picked up but it was not that much. The next thing was I could hear sizzling sound which I supposed could have come from insects in the tree's trunk consuming his material.
    Crackling Sound.mp3
As I analyzed the recorded data at home in Audacity I discovered a lot more. The first tree I recorded gave me a very low rumbling sound. I thought this could be caused by my first unsuitable attempts to press the pickup against the trunk with my own hand. Basically the movement of my hand muscles and the streaming of my blood could have caused this effect. Anyway in this sound I found not intelligible speech but a speech like pattern.
    Very low speech pattern.mp3
After anaylzing the whole data I also discovered some fairly good spirit voices just be applying a little denoising.
"Jetzt hält sie Wort.." -> "Now she keeps her word": Jetzt hält sie Wort.mp3 "Wir nehmen hier unsere Sachen" -> "We take our things here": Wir nehmen hier unsere Sachen.mp3 Another voice was hiding in a small "burst" of impulses that I related to the aforementioned work of insects. Due to my experiences with spirit impulses I knew that some hidden voices can be uncovered by applying the "Paulstretch" algorithm to the signal and so I did.
"Will Rache!" -> "I want revenge!": Will Rache.mp3

To put this clear, I don't think the trees were speaking to me. Instead it's another proof that spirits may manifest their voices in every kind of sound material we offer them, no matter if this is noise, impulses, tones, vibrating air, electronic signals or whatever. Their potential of manifestation is hovering above every physical principle we have here on earth.
Moreover I could see that my setup was working and I am curious for the spring time next year to go out again when the trees will wake up and start making sounds again.
