Searching for Web SDR's Radios Online -Gigahertz and Beyond

Hello everyone,

I do a lot of experiments with radio. Of particular interest is when I perform live noise reduction on radios around the world.

There's one particular radio tower that has served me better than all others, and I don't know why. It is capable of reception up to 24Ghz. In February of 2019 I received some of the best spectrograph pictures I've ever received - from this websdr connection to this tower in the Netherlands. I propose the theory that the higher frequency is responsible, but I haven't yet gathered enough evidence to prove it.

And the only way I could do that is if I was aware of a second radio online that was also capable of high frequency reception.

So I wanted to reach out to the community and ask you guys what sites work for you.

Additional cool stuff: I own a KiwiSdr and have used it on and off, but of course the upper frequency limit is 30Mhz, like most sdr.

Another issue I have is that when I live stream this radio from the Netherlands, after a period of time of inactivity the user session times out. I'd like to figure out a way to circumvent that. Have tried to contact the radio tower owners, and been unsuccessful.

so I have 2 questions.

1: Any other sites out there that go well beyond the shortwave band? Anything else in Gigahertz range or higher?

2: Anyone have any ideas for me to be able to connect directly to this site instead of through the browser (maybe with auto-reconnect - but the last frequency used would need to remain constant)

Ideally, I would form a partnership with someone who has a radio tower - promote their site and establish a direct dedicated connection.

Me being silly, remembering my adolescence where I escaped to an old man's home to listen to the ham radio.  Can you not erect your own tower as the hammies do?  It was a shame I lost the connection to ham radios I would probably understand then a 1/4 of what you guys do.

Hi Karyn,

Well I do have plans to have a small radio tower or antenna here in the backyard if we ever build a shed. The primary purpose of that for me is to do research in VLF, given the past experiences I had (so more about radio waves traveling through the earth's crust than the ionosphere) I even have a custom built antenna with a rotator (where you can turn the antenna with a remote)

However, given that I've generally discovered that spirit voices will appear in anything we focus on, I lean away from the expensive ham radio methods and more towards small, compact, non-obtrusive items. Maybe a scanner would work. I'd prefer a receiver instead of handheld, and they're pretty pricey.

If I can confirm through multiple locations that frequency is an important aspect of why faces come through clearer, then we'll have more reason to dig in a little bit more. Maybe, just maybe, thoughts and impressions can be picked up more easily the higher the reception frequency.

Thanks!

Keith

Michel has sent me a SDR dongle, I still gotta figure out how to set it up and have to look and see what model it is.

In the meantime we're having pretty good success with my kiwisdr I fired up, turned out it has a 60Mhz ADC which seems to indicate according to Michael L that it may be much more successful due to the amount of information available to process.

It can be found at https://www.varanormal.com/streamsfolder/stream8/

to be continued..... 🙂
